Kris founded 4Front Advisors in 2011. Prior to that, he served as director of client services for CannBe, a pioneer in developing best practices within the medical cannabis industry. Kris has dedicated his career to reforming the nation’s misguided drug policies, having served as associate director of NORML from 2000 to 2005 and executive director of Students for Sensible Drug Policy from 2006 to 2009. He currently serves on the National Cannabis Industry Association board of directors
As Managing Partner of 4Front Advisors, Leise has helped dozens of prospective dispensary and cultivation businesses navigate state-managed competitive application processes. She brings to this role more than a decade of experience managing strategy and operations for leading public policy organizations. Leise resides in St. Louis, Mo., where she is involved in the Missouri Cannabis Industry Association, the New Approach Missouri campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Missouri, and local efforts to start a Women Grow chapter for the state.
Director of Licensing and Regulation
Alison was a member of 4Front Advisors’ founding team, having previously worked at CannBe with Kris Krane and joining him in this new endeavor. Ali is one of the nation’s leading experts in interpreting medical marijuana regulations, ensuring operational compliance with all applicable program and state-imposed requirements. Prior to her role at 4Front and CannBe, Ali served as a leader in the student movement for drug policy reform, serving as president of the Roosevelt University chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy and later as chair of the organization’s national board of directors.
Regulatory and Compliance Expert
Shaleen is a lawyer who has helped author several state-level marijuana initiatives. She served as a consultant and spokesperson for the Colorado Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, which succeeded in 2012 in making Colorado the first state to legalize marijuana for adult use. Her professional experience includes positions both inside and outside the cannabis industry, including at Deloitte Tax, Vicente Sederberg LLC, and the national nonprofit advocacy group, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. She has received several awards for her advocacy work and efforts to bring more women and people of color into drug policy reform, including the Hunter S. Thompson Young Attorney Award and the High Times Freedom Fighter Award. She is a partner at THC Staffing Group, a trustee for Students for Sensible Drug Policy, and a founding board member of Marijuana Majority and the Minority Cannabis Business Association.
Director of Operations &Training
Don is responsible for providing dispensary management and operational guidance using 4Front’s industry-leading training platform. Don is an Army vet with multiple U.S. and overseas assignments under his belt. After leaving the military, Don applied his team-building experience to the retail and hospitality sector, where he helped best-in-class brands like Hillstone Restaurants, Starwood, Le Pain Quotidien and Sweetgreen develop their cultures by coaching them to adopt thoughtful recruiting, hiring and training practices. He joined 4Front in early 2014.
Prior to joining 4Front in late 2015, Nathan worked as a natural resource economist in the Materials Systems Laboratory at MIT, where he studied trends in global metals markets as well as sustainable development pathways in India. He graduated with a dual B.S. in Geological Sciences and Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan in 2013.
Eric monitors and analyzes developments in state regulations that specifically impact medical cannabis businesses and 4Front partners. Eric first became interested in drug policy shortly after enrolling at the University of Rhode Island in 2010, where he studied history and political science. He served as president of the university’s chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy from 2012 to 2014.
