Managing Partner & Co-Founder
Kris founded 4Front Advisors in 2011. Prior to that, he served as director of client services for CannBe, a pioneer in developing best practices within the medical cannabis industry. Kris has dedicated his career to reforming the nation’s misguided drug policies, having served as associate director of NORML from 2000 to 2005 and executive director of Students for Sensible Drug Policy from 2006 to 2009. He currently serves on the National Cannabis Industry Association board of directors.
As Managing Partner of 4Front Advisors, Leise has helped dozens of prospective dispensary and cultivation businesses navigate state-managed competitive application processes. She brings to this role more than a decade of experience managing strategy and operations for leading public policy organizations. Leise resides in St. Louis, Mo., where she is involved in the Missouri Cannabis Industry Association, the New Approach Missouri campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Missouri, and local efforts to start a Women Grow chapter for the state.
Don is responsible for providing dispensary management and operational guidance using 4Front’s industry-leading training platform. Don is an Army vet with multiple U.S. and overseas assignments under his belt. After leaving the military, Don applied his team-building experience to the retail and hospitality sector, where he helped best-in-class brands like Hillstone Restaurants, Starwood, Le Pain Quotidien and Sweetgreen develop their cultures by coaching them to adopt thoughtful recruiting, hiring and training practices. He joined 4Front in early 2014.
Sean is in charge of managing and implementing 4Front’s professional staff training program at partner dispensaries around the country. Created over the course of several years helping partners set up successful dispensary operations, the 4Front staff training program is battle-tested and is constantly being updated to incorporate the newest best practices. It is one of the only staff training programs to receive Patient Focused Certification from Americans for Safe Access. Prior to entering the medical cannabis industry, Sean held multiple executive roles in the real estate, finance and technology sectors. He is a former officer in the U.S. Navy and served as a military liaison to the U.S. Ambassador of Jamaica. Sean is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has a master’s degree in philosophy from Arizona State University.
Senior Proposal Manager, Licensing & Regulation
Michael serves as Senior Proposal Manager at 4Front Advisors. Michael brings to the team years of experience successfully guiding business pioneers around the globe through complex regulatory landscapes and bid processes to secure high-value contracts. Michael’s interest in the medical cannabis field extends from his desire to rectify destructive drug policies and to ensure that life-changing medicine is made readily available to the people who need it most. He resides in Rochester, N.Y.
Senior Project Manager, Licensing & Regulation
Based in Denver, George has worked in the cannabis industry for the past several years, specializing in large-scale cultivation, business development, and project management. His experience in the industry also encompasses regulatory analysis, market research, and management consulting. With the increasing number of new cannabis markets opening up both within the United State and internationally, George has focused his attention on managing the license-application processes in highly competitive jurisdictions.
Eric monitors and analyzes developments in state regulations that specifically impact medical cannabis businesses and 4Front partners. Eric first became interested in drug policy shortly after enrolling at the University of Rhode Island in 2010, where he studied history and political science. He served as president of the university’s chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy from 2012 to 2014.
Tyler van Horn
Tyler is a key member of 4Front’s application team, helping prepare applications and navigate complex regulatory matters for its local partners. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in English and a minor in economics.
Nate is an integral part of the 4Front team, helping manage projects and lending aid wherever is necessary. He recently graduated from Arizona State University with a major in finance and minor in real estate. He is passionate about playing an active role in the rapidly evolving cannabis industry.
